Located on plot BA-9, at the southern end of Entrenúcleos (one of the most ambitious urban developments in Andalusia) Habitat Elvira stands as a model of architecture that balances density and livability, blending modernity with respect for the natural environment.
The project’s design aims for a homogeneous and contemporary integration into the neighborhood, addressing the challenges of densely built areas where the risk of architectural monotony and construction saturation is high. In contrast to this context, the proposal opts for a more open organization towards the exterior, concentrating the building volumes along the frontages and mandatory alignments. This strategy frees up a large interior space for communal areas, maximizing natural light in the homes and offering sunlit areas for collective enjoyment.

With privileged views of one of the region’s largest peri-urban parks, the layout of the project has been designed to enhance this connection with the landscape. Two six-story buildings, arranged in an “L” shape, are located at the northern and eastern edges of the plot. This configuration frees up the southern area, ensuring unobstructed views, optimal orientation, and ample natural light in all units.

Each block features continuous terraces that extend the living areas outward, providing residents with a prime space to enjoy the views and environmental quality. The layout is intended not only to maximize individual comfort but also to strengthen the bond between the architecture and its natural and urban surroundings.

At the heart of the plot stands a unique structure, conceived as a community focal point. This building houses a social club and changing rooms for the pool, with the rest of the central space dedicated to recreational activities. Here, residents will find swimming pools, children’s play areas, and a paddle tennis court—designed to encourage leisure and family interaction in a safe and pleasant environment.

The layout of the residences reflects a meticulous study to optimize thermal, light, and spatial comfort. All units feature cross ventilation and at least two facades, ensuring optimal natural lighting and air circulation that significantly improves indoor environmental quality. This design promotes energy efficiency and the well-being of its residents.

All in all, Habitat Elvira is much more than a residential complex; it is a space that redefines contemporary urban living, integrating functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability in a proposal that enriches both its residents and its surroundings.
